Prague's O2 Arena once again hosted the biggest park show in the world this autumn - the Global Champions Prague Playoffs, in which teams made up of riders of different nationalities competed in front of nearly 40,000 fans, this year 16 in total. The most famous Czech face of this sport is Anna Kellnerová, whose team, the Prague Lions, finished a close fourth.
Premises for competitors
The Venclovský architekti studio was again chosen for design of performers' background located on the underground floor of the O2 Arena. Their concept is based primarily on the classic contrast of red and gold color, which together create a "royal" combination. These two colours together look luxurious, even opulent, and this is no different in these spaces - the absence of daylight and the need to use artificial lighting only enhance this impression.
Event carpets for short-term events
So-called event carpets, also commonly used for exhibitions, trade fairs, conferences and other short-term events, are ideally suited for these occasions. A 4-day parkur show is exactly the type of event for which both the Ultimate Twist tufted contract carpet and the second event carpet the Revexpo Dilour, are ideal choices.
In the main area we laid 520 m2 of red carpet on the floor,
while under the ceiling was hung and sculpted into organic curves the gold foil. The rest of the interior is mostly white, black or as little visible as possible (transparent plastic chairs).
Temporary carpet installation
We then used 100 m2 of Revexpo Dilour's blue event carpet in a separate area of the stylized Sweet Bar café offering sweets. All carpet installation was done on double-sided tape for easier removal, as is usual for events of this type.
