Reconstruction of the historic building
The history of the Hybský Palace, built in a Art Nouveau style, dates back to 1904, when the Hybský family bought it at auction from its builder Josef Krudenc. In 1948 the palace was nationalized and did not return to its owners until after the Revolution. Nowadays, the interiors and partly the exteriors (outdoor terraces of the palace) have been completely renovated, the building is home to various institutions and private tenants (e.g. Bageterie Boulevard, Equa bank, etc.) and some rooms are still available for rent.
Vinyl floors for offices and appartments
The reconstruction included, of course, the replacement of floors, both in the commercial premises and in the private apartments for rent. For the vast majority of the floor space (approx. 270 m2), Expona Commercial vinyl flooring in tiles was chosen - a logical choice combining high durability and easy installation and eventual replacement of individual tiles.
The distinctive "sheet metal" design of Expona vinyl parts is mainly used in bathrooms and toilets, which are designed in dark shades.
Rugs and screeds
In addition to this unconventional pattern, a more classical one with light-coloured "stone" tiles was used, which in combination with the light-coloured wall cladding visually expands and brightens the smaller rooms. We also formatted several Bichon rugs in different sizes to create nice comfort zones on the smooth floor.
Our cement screed was applied to the walls in selected areas, about 70 m2 - it is waterproof and washable, so it could also be used on outdoor terraces. There is also a large Garda rug suitable for the outdoors, with easy maintenance even in outdoor conditions - we adapted the dimensions to the length and width of the terrace and finished the edges with a bordering in a colour close to the rug.
