Cement screed floors are a great addition to almost any interior - but in combination with the simple style and colours, they probably do the greatest service. In this case, the investor chose not to vary the type of flooring depending on the individual rooms, and instead used trowel everywhere throughout the ground floor.
Our BG design screed based on refined cement is only 2-3 mm thick, although it is made up of 3 layers of material plus a final polyurethane finish. The substrate preparation must therefore be perfect for the final surface to be perfect. The entire substrate had to be sanded, primed and levelled to create a base layer suitable for the application of the screed.
The screed is also used on the bathroom and toilet floor, the seamless surface is a big positive here.
On the walls, the cement coating in these areas is complemented by large-format ceramic tiles with a concrete design look in a darker anthracite shade.
For the cement coating a light grey colour was chosen, which fits in well with the natural colouring of the interior - the warm shade of wood, grey, black and white are particularly visible here. A striking feature throughout the space is the metal staircase with glass treads.
